How LASU Calculates Admission

LASU uses a screening system instead of post-UTME exams (in most years). The score is usually based on:

  • JAMB score – 50%
  • O’level grades – 50%

O’level Grading System:

  • A1 = 10 points
  • B2 = 9 points
  • B3 = 8 points
  • C4 = 7 points
  • C5 = 6 points
  • C6 = 5 points

Your best five subjects are considered, including compulsory ones for your course.

Tips to Improve Your Admission Chances

  • Aim higher than the cut-off (especially for competitive courses).
  • Upload your O’level results early on JAMB CAPS.
  • Pick courses that align with your JAMB score.
  • Apply as soon as the LASU portal opens.
  • Regularly check the official LASU website: https://lasu.edu.ng

What If You Don’t Meet the Cut-Off?

  • Choose a course with a lower cut-off.
  • Apply for Change of Course on the JAMB portal.
  • Wait for supplementary admission lists (some courses may accept lower scores later).
  • Consider other schools or part-time options.

Getting into LASU is possible if you plan smartly. Meeting the cut-off is just the starting point — the higher your score, the better your chances.

Stay updated, prepare your documents, and apply early.
